Andrew Newton joins us for the day as Marcus the Medicus, with a display of replica Roman medical tools and the opportunity to chat about Roman medicine and lifestyle. After nearly forty years in the NHS (as a General Practitioner and an Emergency Medicine Consultant) NOSAS member Andrew now specialises in bringing the history of medicine to life through re-enactment and has featured in Meet the Ancestors, Diseases & Dynasties and on the Discovery Channel. If you come at the right time, he may be enjoying some Roman lunch.
