Launching HAF this year, with a family day full of activities for all ages
Archaeology for Communities in the Highlands (ARCH) is proud to host the Highland Family Heritage Day which will take place at Dingwall Academy and Library in Dingwall. This will be a family friendly event showcasing local heritage organisations and the heritage of the Highlands, activities for all ages, a programme of talks, craft stalls, guided walks and re-enactors.
A free fun filled day out for the whole family!

Programme of Activities:
11am-12:15 Do you want to become a Viking Warrior? For girls and boys 6-10
10:30-11:30am repeated 2:30-3:30 Object handling. For all ages
12-1 Dingwall walking tour
1-2pm The Rubbish Game. For kids
2-2:45 Library tour of heritage collection
2-3pm Have a go at making and decorating a Bronze Age pot. For adults and accompanied children over 5
All day: Eric the Dead workshop. For school aged children
All day: Design your own Pictish stone
All day: An interactive virtual reality experience of Fort William at the time of the siege of Fort William in 1746
All day: Archive box making and decorating with the Highland Archive Centre
All day: Decorate your own mask and fan with the West Highland Museum
All day: Have a go at spinning, with the Highland Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers
All day: What is below the surface can affect what is above, with Inverness YAC

- 11am-12pm Groam Cottage: an 18th century time capsule in Kirkhill - Erik Lundberg, Wardlaw Museum Trust
- 12pm A day in the Life: People, Places and Stories in the Highland Archive Service - Lorna Steele-McGinn, Highland Archive Centre
